Alhambra
After the 2011 AEPC conference we offer you the possibility of a guided visit of the Alhambra Palace followed by dinner at a restaurant in the Albaicín, the Moorish neighbourhood, standing on a hill with a wonderful view of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains beyond. The Alhambra is one of the most famous monuments in the world and this is an excellent opportunity to tour the palace and gardens with an expert guide. May is the perfect month, the gardens of the Alhambra and the Generalife summer Palace will be at their finest, with such flowers as jasmine, roses and honeysuckle in bloom.
The places available for this tour are limited and we must emphasise that you should book for the tour at the same time as you make your registration. You will find this option on the registration form. After April 15 it will be impossible to obtain a place on the tour even if you make your registration after this date.
The tour and dinner will take place during the afternoon/evening of Saturday 21 May, after the close of the conference. It costs € 80 per person and includes transport to and from the Alhambra, entrance fee and guide for the Alhambra, plus dinner after the visit.
You can, if you prefer, make your own arrangements to visit the Alhambra during the week of the conference or when the conference finishes. The entrance ticket is split into four sections and you could in fact spend a whole day on a leisurely visit, leaving for lunch and returning in the afternoon, but three hours is enough if you don’t have a day to spare. Remember to wear comfortable shoes. There is also the option of an evening visit which begins at 22:00h or 22:30; this a brief visit of about an hour seeing only part of the Royal Palace but it will give you an opportunity to experience a little of the magic of the Alhambra by night.
Due to the tremendous demand for entrance tickets you must buy them at least a month before the conference; we will not be able to obtain tickets for you on your arrival in Granada.
