Welcome

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a pleasure to invite you to the 45th Annual Meeting of the Association of European Paediatric Cardiology. We hope this conference will give you the opportunity to share the best of science and education in paediatric cardiology. The conference theme is "the right ventricle", the ventricular chamber involved in many congenital heart diseases and still a challenging topic.

Granada in Andalusia, Spain, will be the host city for our conference. Granada was a Moorish kingdom for some seven hundred years, and signs of its past still remain in the narrow winding streets of its oldest districts, and of course in the Alhambra Palace, one of the most beautiful mediaeval Moorish palaces in the world, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. May is a beautiful month in Granada when the weather is pleasantly warm.

The venue for the 20011 AEPC is the Granada Conference & Exhibition Centre, which is designed to offer the highest standard for holding a scientific meeting. We are proud to host this meeting from 18 to 21 May 2011 in Granada and will do our best to ensure a successful meeting with an excellent scientific programme.

I look forward to seeing you in Granada.

María del Mar Rodríguez Vázquez del Rey
Conference president
